We are proud to have done the framing and mounting for prestigious places such as the Apartheid and Sharpville Museums. Many of our clients include leading corporates and multinationals, government and municipal departments, and some of South Africas best known photographers. We are not known as the " framers framer " for nothing, and do framing for several of Johannesburgs top galleries and advertising agencies.

Dye Sublimation

Dye sublimation may not be new, but at Soho Design Innovation we are perfecting it. The idea of sublimation transfer is relatively simple. It’s a two-step process that results in great images. Sublimation inks, also called “disperse dyes,” are reverse-printed onto a transfer paper. Next the Transfer paper is placed against the fabric and run through a heat press. Under the influence of heat and pressure, inks go into a gaseous state, migrate to the fabric and permanently bond with the fibers. Dye sublimation prints have been the benchmark of quality in the digital world. With Dye sublimation, one can image onto uncoated polyester fabrics, or almost any material that has a polyester coating. Combine the latest state of the art software with accurate profiles, and many years of trial and error, you will soon see why the bigger ad agencies rely on Soho for colour accurate, and consistent quality that meets their highest standards. All this at a very competitive price.

Blockmounting

As South Africa's oldest blockmounting company, we are able to offer one of the most durable, cost-effective ways of displaying posters, products, messages, instructions or any form of communication. These prints can be mounted using either a wet or dry process on 3, 6 or 12mm chip board and can be cut to any size up to 1.8 m x 3.6 m.

Channelling

If so required, we are able to finish off the blockmounts with a plastic edging called channelling, available in a variety of colours. This gives the blockmount a professional finish - similar to framing - at a fraction of the cost. ...more on blockmounting

Box Framing and Forex Mounting

At Soho design we are able to box frame anything from sports jerseys, to cricket bats. We are also able to mount all types of items on Forex board, from jigsaw puzzles to posters. We specialise in the mounting of large maps on various substrates, such as Forex board, Chromadek, Aluminium sheets or Styrene board. We encapsulate in 75, 125 and 250 micron and can encapsulate in matt or gloss materials up to 950mm wide.

Laminating

In order to protect your prints or posters from scratches and marks, we are able to laminate prints up to 1.5m in size. This process is ideal for a print that is going to be used several times at exhibitions and shows, as by laminating you are not only protecting the print, you are water proofing it as well, which allows the product to be cleaned after handling.

Canvas Printing and Stretching

We have been doing canvas stretching for the past 15 years. This is a process whereby canvas is stretched over a solid back wooden box, hand made to any size. Encapsulating

This is a process whereby an image is compressed and sealed between two sheets of plastic. We are able to do this for various sizes up to 950mm wide, depending on the length of the image. The encapsulating comes in various thicknesses from 75 micron to 125 micron or 250 micron and the finish can be either matt or gloss. The process is ideal for protecting and covering menus, instruction sheets, posters and items that require lots of handling and a long life.

• Brochex

  This stand is an attractive point of sale tool to be used alongside your portable stand. It is elegant, lightweight and easy to assemble. It rolls up, assembles in less than a minute and holds A3 and A4 brochures. Made from a durable fabric that rolls up easily into a nylon bag, it weighs only 1.2kg. It is therefore both durable and practical.

• Perspex

  A sturdy chrome and Perspex stand, which consists of four compartments. It will hold A4 flat, or A3 folded brochures. It collapses and fits in a sturdy bag for easy transport, weighing 1.2 kg.

Digital Printing

With the various digital printing machines we use, we are able to print on a variety of fabrics and materials such as canvas, PVC, mesh or self-adhesive, and this can be achieved in either matt or gloss. Using Mimaki, Roland and H.P. technology, we are able to produce high quality indoor or outdoor digital printing up to 2.7m wide (larger sizes can be arranged). We use only the best quality materials and inks, which assures one of the finest end product. Add to this our fast turnaround time and competitive pricing and you realise that Soho offers real value for money when it comes to digital printing.

Graphic Design Services

Soho offers an in-house graphic design service, using several software packages including CorelDraw, Freehand and Photoshop. This, together with our highly qualified design team, enables us to create the image of your dreams. We are proud to have done the design work for a number of prestigious organisations. Our design rates are extremely competitive.

Window Graphics

Soho has a large variety of products to suit all your window and display needs. We offer hanging Banners as per example above. We do vinyl printing as well as print and cut on self adhesive vinyl for inside and outside of your windows. This is effective and eye catching to passers-by. We also do sand blast decals and printing on frosted vinyl for use on shop fronts and entrance doors. We are able to print on Contravision which is suitable for back windows on cars and shops, and is like a one way screen. You are able to look out but it is difficult to see in. Soho also offers an application service for the above products.
